in 1976, Paul started his career with the Metropolitan
Police Force in London, England. Within a few years, he had gained
expertise in the disciplines of investigations, special events, and high security
prisoner control. In 1988, Paul was hired by Fox as the security manager for the old KTTV Fox Television Center in Hollywood. His career progressed over the years and he held the title of Vice President of Corporate Security until early 2008. Paul developed and built the Fox security program for all Fox Entertainment / News Corporation entities worldwide, including:

33 Owner operated TV stations nationwide Paul developed one of the most advanced Threat Management programs in the world, personally dealing with many of the hundreds of cases that appeared each year. Working with a programmer, Paul designed a database to manage the more than 1,500 unique stalkers that on a daily basis threatened the safety and security of studio executives, celebrities, news anchors and politicians. Paul's database was eventually adopted by the elite L.A.P.D. Threat Management Unit where it is used to this day to manage their cases. Since 1999, Paul has served on the National Board of Directors and lectured for The Association of Threat Assessment Professionals and has been a speaker for The American Society of Industrial Security. In 2000 Paul became a Specialist Reserve Police Officer for the Los Angeles Police Department Threat Management Unit. Between 2002 and 2006 Paul served as the Entertainment Sector Chairman of the FBI’s InfraGard Los Angeles Alliance, a private sector group working to protect U.S. infrastructure. For the past ten years, Paul has served on the Board of Directors for the 20th Century Fox Federal Credit Union. In 2005, Paul was selected to sit on a panel of three security experts for a worldwide security teleconference presented by Strafford Publications, a leading national publisher of specialized information services in both print and electronic form. The teleconference entitled, "Successful Security Officer Management - Proven best practices for training, deploying, and managing your guard force in today’s environment" was so successful that after overwhelming participant requests Strafford Publications rebroadcast it and later published an audio CD of the event. In 2007, Paul participated with other selected threat management experts in the University of Nebraska’s workgroup developing guidelines for best practices for the U.S. Department of Defense counter intelligence community. he has also spoken on workplace violence for groups such as the Century City Chamber of Commerce. After 20 years in the studio industry, Paul left 20th Century Fox in late 2007 and teamed up with his former 20th Century Fox colleague Chuck Harold to form an exclusive consulting company called Guard Smart® They turned full time to transforming the Guard Smart® brand and reputation into what they believed was among the best expertise in the security and safety fields.
By the summer of 2008,
Guard Smart®
caught the attention of the
oldest family owner operated security company in the United States,
McRoberts Protective Agency, Inc., founded in 1876. Discovering that the
two companies shared the same commitment to quality service and the
respectful treatment of their employees, the two companies decided to
merge their talents and Paul and Chuck were made Vice Presidents of McRoberts' Los
Angeles Branch where they are responsible for business development and
